THE AEOLIAN ISLANDS (Lipari & Stromboli)
Lipari & Stromboli - Italy's fabulous volcanic islands.
Located just to the North of Sicily and a short hydrofoil ride away, lie the
idyllic Aeolian islands. The warm, clear blue waters offer some of the best diving in
the Mediterranean, deep walls and stunning sea life and corals. We compliment this with accommodation in the

Hopefully this will give you an idea of the island and the diving you can enjoy with La Gorgonia Diving.
Lipari can easily be reached from
Milazzo by hydrofoil or by Naples by ferry or hydrofoil. To reach Sicily, many
airlines fly
to Catania or Palermo. You can then travel by train or bus to Milazzo or we can
arrange taxi or minibus transfers. If arriving late, we can arrange overnight
accommodation in Palermo at the Hotel Letizia.
We can even arrange helicopter transfer from Catania, Palermo, Naples, Reggio
Calabria, Lamezia Terme and Rome airports if required.
The diving is spectacular (see detailed site descriptions below) and you will be in safe hands with Giuseppe and Mimma of La Gorgonia. To best enjoy the walls of Lipari and Vulcano, we recommend that you are PADI AOW or BSAC Sport Diver. More experienced divers and groups can really enjoy the 50 metre walls.
In Lipari, the Hotel Carasco offers excellent accommodation at a very good price and the views and pool area are beyond compare. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from La Gorgonia which is located beside the quiet bars, cafes and restaurants of the Marina Corta and 2 minutes from the main street and restaurants.
Lipari has a host of excellent restaurants and the main street and Marina Corta are excellent for watching the world go by while enjoying an after dive drink before dinner.
In my opinion, Lipari and the Aeolian Islands offer fantastic scenery, great diving and wonderful food and wine. La Gorgonia and the Hotel Carasco have my personal recommendation.
For dive clubs and large groups, we can arrange villa accommodation and 2 or 4 bedroom studio apartments within a 4 star residence / hotel complex.
