SCAPA FLOW

"Relax as hard as you can!"

I first started diving Scapa Flow in the 1970s with Strathclyde University - camping on the shore and diving from Avon inflatables using transits to find the wrecks. So you could say that I know the place quite well.

Here is your chance to experience one of the top three wreck diving destinations in the world! Scapa Flow. Far closer than Bikini Atoll or Truk Lagoon. We have been diving Scapa and running trips there for over 20 years and know the islands and diving well. Whatever you want - day boats, live aboards, beginners, technical, guided, single diver or groups, we can meet your requirements.

We  book  spaces on  trips to Scapa Flow on board the MV Valkyrie. The recently refitted Valkyrie is comfortable, with 6 twin cabins - all with central heating & hot and cold water. She is an excellent boat and the skipper, Hazel Weaver, is superb. Always spot on slack water for the dives and extremely friendly and helpful.

Scapa Flow is a sheltered open lagoon, encircled by the Orkney islands. It contains some of the most interesting wrecks in the world. For years it was the main anchorage of the British Royal Navy, and has many relics left of British naval history. In June 1919, the interned German navy scuttled most of its High Seas Fleet to prevent them from falling into Allied hands. Despite subsequent salvage, 8 of them remain and provide excellent wrecks for interested sports divers.
